I've worked on backend and infrastructure across fintech, consumer products, and enterprise software. I use this site to write about what I'm working on, share things I've built, and keep track of what I'm learning.
Open source I've shipped
leakferret started after I had rotated enough credentials that should never have reached git history. I built the project from the scanner core through its editor and agent integrations. The source and release packages are public.
leakferret
Context-aware secret scanner
I built the Rust scanner and the integrations around it. The project covers finding classification, provider verification, and proposed environment-variable rewrites, with a shared core behind the CLI and MCP server.

Debugging Redis::CannotConnectError in Ruby
Redis timeouts arrived in short bursts while infrastructure stayed healthy. One Ruby client path rebuilt the connection and dropped its configured timeout.

Rolling PgBouncer without dropped queries
PgBouncer rollouts reset live client sockets after Kubernetes drained the pod. Shorter Rails connection lifetimes closed the proxy shutdown timing gap.

When config edits start feeling like deploys
A saved setting took 30 seconds to reach every worker. The database kept the value while a ConfigMap watch became the fleet-wide change signal.
